Cancellation Policy
I am so honored to be working with you!
I do have a strict 24-hour cancellation policy. Why? This policy is important because, while a medical doctor can see 35 patients in a day, a therapist like me generally sees 6-7 clients. I reserve a full hour of our time for your session, and the clinical notes taken after our session. If a client cancels with less than a 24-hour notice, we lose an entire hour from our schedule. The 24-hour notice gives us a chance to fill that hour.
What this means for you: You can cancel or reschedule an appointment at any time, as long as you give 24-hour notice. If you cancel an appointment with less notice or don’t show up, you will be charged the full fee for your session. Please understand this is an industry-standard for therapists.
Resources for Emergency/Crisis
We are not equipped to provide emergency psychiatric and/or medical services. If you need such services during and/or after business hours, you will need to dial 911 for an immediate emergency or contact more comprehensive centers in the community.
In the event of a medical emergency, a threat to your safety, or a threat to the safety of others, please call 911 for immediate assistance.
For your convenience only, we have provided the following additional resources that may be of assistance:
- Psychiatric Response Team (818)832-2410 (daytime only)
- L.A. County Department of Mental Health ACCESS Hotline (800)854-7771 (24-hour hotline)
- Suicide Prevention Hotline (310)391-1253 or (800)784-2433 (24-hour hotline)
Good Faith Estimate
Notice to clients and prospective clients
Under the law, healthcare providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your healthcare provider and any other provider you choose for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service or at any time during treatment.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
