About me

Kristin Cantella, MFT

With over 25 years of experience as a licensed psychotherapist, I specialize in delivering trauma-informed care tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. My approach integrates a blend of evidence-based therapies, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and techniques grounded in Somatic and Mindfulness practices.

I began my career after earning a Bachelor’s Degree from UC Santa Barbara in 1995 and a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Phillips Graduate Institute in Los Angeles (now Phillips Graduate University/Campbellsville University) in 1999.

My extensive experience spans various therapeutic settings, from residential and hospital environments to group mental health practices. For the last 14 years, I have operated a successful solo private practice.

Throughout my career, I have also contributed significantly to an EAP program at a major Los Angeles hospital, providing counseling, critical incident debriefings, and staff education across the medical center.
